Week 1 Reflection
I learned a lot during week 1. To start, I learned about the cycle of assessment. You start off by reflecting on change and planning for improvement, then you teach, then you gather and assess student work, and then you interpret evidence and identify outcomes, and then it continues. The cycle of assessment is a never-ending cycle. I feel that this will help me when I have my own classroom because it will give me a place to start with assessments and prepares me for what will come next. I then learned about why we assess children. I never really thought about why until this class. I think it is very important that we monitor the childrens development and learning in our classroom. If we are not monitoring the learning then how will we as teachers know if the children are understadning the material or if they are struggling.
